He was inspired by the march yesterday and I admire the results of his inspiration. Thank you for your art, Matthew.
Artist: Matthew Waite, a comic book artist, was so inspired by the marches yesterday he made this. “Women are the future”. Immigrants are the future. LGBTQIA are the future. Equality and human rights are the future. We can’t let the momentum wane and we can NEVER be complacent again.
“There is no common ground to be had with the Trump administration.
Donald J. Trump will be the next president of the United States. That is sobering because he is glaringly unsuited for any significant public office, much less the most important in our country and indeed the world. Nothing about his pre-candidacy record recommends him. To the contrary, it is so lacking in relevant achievement, so marred by embarrassment, that many onlookers thought that his run for the presidency was nothing more than a publicity stunt. Then his campaign itself was so repulsive, so saturated with bigotries of various sorts, so ostentatiously crass, so glaringly demagogic, that it prompted many leading figures in his own party to repudiate him. The conservative New Hampshire Union Leader refused to endorse Trump, remarking, aptly, that he is “a liar, a bully, a buffoon.” The Dallas Morning News, which had…
44K registered to attend, over 200,000 were there!
“People attended sister marches nationally and globally, including in Antarctica. Current estimates place the national turnout at 3 million.” -The Hill
Preparation paid off, my nerves calmed down, the march was peaceful. The marchers respectful. Democracy is not to be watched but to be participated in, it is our duty, even if we have to overcome our own fears and we speak with a tremble in our voices, we must speak out loud! 1.8 K Marchers + today.
“It is only when the people become ignorant and corrupt when they degenerate into a populace, that they are incapable of exercising the sovereignty. Usurpation is then an easy attainment, and a usurper soon found. The people themselves become the willing instruments of their own debasement and ruin. Let us, then, look to the great cause, and endeavor to preserve it in full force. Let us by all wise and constitutional measures promote intelligence among the people as the best means of preserving our liberties.”
~Founding Father James Monroe, First Inaugural Address, March 4, 1817
I myself have never been able to find out precisely what feminism is: I only know that people call me a feminist whenever I express sentiments that differentiate me from a door mat or a prostitute.”

Tonight, I admit I sit here apprehensive about the future. This is not a good state of mind for a person with a predisposition to depression, a person with fibromyalgia that is easily affected by stress, it can put me into a flare of monumental proportions. Since I started this blog I promised my readers that have followed my journey into the darkness that I would keep them apprised of my journey.
This is the day before a bigot, a man who has exhibited behavior to women that I have personally experienced, a man that doesn’t seem to even be literate enough to write a complete sentence, let alone intelligent enough to run a country becomes our nation’s leader. This is a worrisome time not just for me, but for our country. I believe he is an embarrassment to our country because he is not what our country…
“Here’s what we’re not taught [about the Declaration and Constitution]: Those words at the time they were written were blazingly, electrifyingly subversive. If you understand them truly now, they still are. You are not taught – and it is a disgrace that you aren’t – that these men and women were radicals for liberty; that they had a vision of equality that was a slap in the face of what the rest of their world understood to be the unchanging, God-given order of nations; and that they were willing to die to make that desperate vision into a reality for people like us, whom they would never live to see. ”
