I Have Finally Returned

Returning to this site and discussing politics takes a fair amount of courage, but I’ve decided to do it anyway. After giving it considerable thought, I realize I’ll face some challenges, yet I understand that many other Americans who share my political views are experiencing similar struggles.

At the age of 77, I find myself still marching for our freedoms because I believe in their importance now more than ever. The painful reality of losing family members over political differences is a testament to how far we’ve strayed from unity. We cannot ignore the real threats we face today; it’s time to stand together and confront the evil that seeks to divide us.

The “No Kings” protests on March 28, 2026, saw millions of Americans rally nationwide to protest what organizers call the authoritarian actions of the Trump administration, including war crimes and immigration crackdowns. Coordinated by the No Kings Coalition, the movement aims to uphold democratic principles in the face of increasing presidential power.

Standing for the flag or Acting on what it Stands For

Standing for the flag or Acting on what it Stands For
All this controversy whether kneeling or standing with arms locked is disrespecting our country’s  flag has many people upset, some confused.  “For liberty and justice for ALL”.  I believe it would be disrespectful if we did not honor what our flag stood for and STAND UP for our rights to insure that we are indeed the country that our armed forces through the life of our country spilled blood over to give us. – the liberty and the freedom for justice for ALL.  Those who only see the kneeling during a song are missing the big picture and are not understanding the injustices that are going on. Respect is earned, Defending our democracy is respecting our country and given by partcipating and not quietly allowing it to be taken away. Democracy is not something fought for just on foreign soils but here in our own home. we cannot allow racism, bigotry and hatred destroy us.

Quote of the Day #64

Trump Protest-Inaugural Day 2017

The lesson of the last year is this: foreign policy can’t be managed through the politics of personality, and our President would do well to take note of an observation John F. Kennedy made once he was in office – that all of the world’s problems aren’t his predecessor’s fault.
